We are excited to announce that the Dental pod is now Plastic Neutral Certified, achieved through our partnership with leading social enterprise rePurpose Global

Our Plastic Neutral certification empowers us to create an immediate impact on the plastic waste crisis. This partnership aligns with our mission to create a healthier and more sustainable world, not only reflecting our commitment to reducing our environmental impact but also underscoring our dedication to supporting communities and building a better future for all.

Our Commitment to Sustainability

Becoming Plastic Neutral Certified means that for every Dental Pod we produce, an equivalent amount of plastic waste is recovered from nature and recycled, effectively offsetting our plastic footprint. This certification is a step in our continued sustainability goals, ensuring that our products do not contribute to the plastic waste crisis.

Understanding Plastic Neutrality

Plastic Neutrality is achieved when the plastic footprint of a product is measured and balanced by recovering plastic waste from the environment. For the Dental Pod, this means that the plastic used in both the product and its packaging is offset by rePurpose Global’s recovery initiatives. These initiatives empower marginalised waste workers to collect and recycle low-value plastic waste, which would otherwise be destined for landfills, incineration, or oceans.

Who is rePurpose Global?

rePurpose Global is a social enterprise driven by a mission to combat plastic waste, support waste workers’ incomes, and ensure access to safe and dignified work environments. Operating in countries with weak waste management systems, rePurpose Global targets areas where plastic pollution is most likely to enter natural environments. Alarmingly, 90% of ocean plastic pollution originates from just 10 rivers, eight of which are in Asia. By partnering with rePurpose Global, we are addressing this critical issue head-on.

Our Impact

By certifying the Dental Pod as Plastic Neutral, we are contributing to the global fight against plastic pollution while also uplifting waste workers. These workers are vital to managing our plastic waste, yet they often face undervaluation, low and unstable incomes, and harsh working conditions. Our partnership with rePurpose Global helps to provide these workers with fairer, more reliable incomes, improved working conditions, and greater community status.

Millions of waste workers play a crucial role in mitigating the effects of global consumption, yet they remain stuck in cycles of intergenerational poverty. Through our collaboration with rePurpose Global, we aim to break this cycle by supporting local waste management enterprises that offer safe, stable, and fairly-paid employment opportunities.

Building a Community

At Zima Dental, we believe in the power of community and collective action. Our partnership with rePurpose Global is not just about achieving Plastic Neutrality; it’s about fostering a community of like-minded individuals who care about their impact on the planet. We invite you to join us on this journey towards sustainability. Let’s build a future where our products contribute to the health of both people and the planet. Together, we can make a difference—one Dental Pod at a time.
