We advise our customers against using certain brands of sterilising tablets with their Dental pods, as they may damage the device. Unlike Zima’s sterilising tablets, which are specifically formulated for use with the Dental pod, other brands may contain ingredients that form hypochlorite ions when mixed with water.

Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, or SLS, is a common ingredient in many personal care and cleaning products, including oral appliance sterilising tablets. While SLS can effectively clean and sterilise oral appliances, it also poses potential risks that consumers should be aware of.

The Dental pod was designed, tested and engineered specifically to clean oral appliances, taking meticulous care to prevent any of the real dangers of damage. In contrast, a jewellery cleaner is designed for cleaning jewellery and has considered none of the risks to oral appliance patients.
