We advise our customers against using certain brands of tablets with their Dental pods, as they may damage the device. Unlike Zima’s ultrasonic boosting tablets, which are specifically formulated for use with the Dental pod, other brands may contain ingredients that form hypochlorite ions when mixed with water.

Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, or SLS, is a common ingredient in many personal care and cleaning products, including oral appliance tablets. While SLS can effectively clean oral appliances, it also poses potential risks that consumers should be aware of.

The Dental pod was designed, tested and engineered specifically to clean oral appliances, taking meticulous care to prevent any of the real dangers of damage. In contrast, a jewellery cleaner is designed for cleaning jewellery and has considered none of the risks to oral appliance patients.

It's important to clean your oral appliance regularly to help prevent the build-up of bacteria and keep it in good condition. But how can you clean your aligners, retainer, dentures or night guard naturally, without using harsh chemicals?

During the rigorous design process of the Dental pod, prototypes including UV lights were tested. However, it was decided that UV would not be included in the Dental pod for the following 3 reasons.

The Dental pod effectively cleans night guards. It cleans quickly, efficiently, and with little to no effort on your part. You also don’t need to worry about damaging your appliance. I recommend that you use the Dental pod to clean your night guard every morning after you wake up.
